Hi

My Name is Samuel Garcia, and this is my blog.
This blog contains all of my of work completed in Dr. Wielgo's college writing 2 course at Lewis university. I never imagined myself writing a blog. Does one still have to be formal in such a setting? Regardless, blogging was one of the many things i have learned throughout the semester. English is my second language, i can speak it yes. Although i crave to be able to seduce the mind of people who read what i type. I am far from where i want to be, but through this class i have learned more in this semester than i have in my four years of high school.
During our first few of weeks we were asked to pick a topic for our photo essay that would carry onto our final research paper. At the time i thought i knew exactly what topic i was going pick. As the semester went on i still had the topic in the back of my mind. As time went on the topic never left my mind. Dr. Wielgos went a few months without talking about the research paper. I hoped he had forgotten about it. He did not. Just like my writing my topic changed throughout the semester.
The reason why I bring up the connection between the beginning of the semester and the end of the semester is because writing this blog post reminded me of the first class we had. We had to create our first blog post. Now as our final final assignment we are required to make a final portfolio in the form of a blog. Everything is coming full circle and it was a nice way to end a class that has taught me so much.
My first assignment was the photo essay in which i chose to a thematic view on exercise. My photo essay consisted of information that would help people who have never worked out to feel at ease. Exercising can be broken down into simple steps that anyone can accomplish and that is the idea that i was trying to speak to my audience.
Fitness was the general subject i carried into my final paper which was on the topic of supplementation use was safe for athletes.
Our second assignment was the visual rhetorical analysis. This one was my personal favorite because it wasn't such an unorthodox writing assignment like the photo essay. Do not get me wrong, i liked the photo essay because it was a new experience, but i felt overwhelmed and i felt like i was doing everything wrong. For the visual rhetorical analysis i felt it was new to me but i felt comfortable doing it.
